Texas Realtors® Leadership Program


2024 marks the 15th, HAR facilitated Texas Realtors® Leadership Program. The program's core mission is to cultivate and develop community and association leaders, equipping them to make meaningful contributions to their communities and businesses while enhancing their personal and professional growth.
 
Program Details
The Texas Realtors® Leadership Program (TRLP) provides a unique platform for participants and graduates to connect with other driven leaders and engage in a deep learning experience centered around community matters and leadership abilities. TRLP is dedicated to equipping Texas Realtors® with the skills needed to tackle upcoming challenges. The program offers a rich blend of lectures, seminars, guest speakers, group discussions, and leadership activities that delve into critical topics impacting Texas Realtors®. The format fosters lively discussions and active involvement from all participants.
 
Who Should Apply?
The program is designed for all Realtors® who are eager to enhance both their personal and professional growth. To be eligible, you must be a full-time Realtor® in good standing with a minimum of two years of experience in the field as of March 15, 2024. Applicants must also be able to attend ALL modules in their entirety (listed below) and submit the completed application by 5pm on Friday, March 15, 2024.   
This opportunity is open to all Realtor® members in good standing with the Houston Association of Realtors® who meet these criteria.
 
2024 TRLP Session Schedule
All modules run from 8:30am until 5pm unless otherwise noted below. Breakfast and lunch are also included in each session.
 
Session One: Learning to Lead (Overnight Retreat)
April 16-17, 2024 (Galveston, Texas)
  • This overnight retreat runs from 8:30am until 5pm each day with a group dinner on the evening of April 16th.  A hotel room (April 16) and meals throughout the retreat are included in the program price.
Session Two: Time Management and Building Your Team
May 16, 2024
 
Session Three: Key Lessons in Leadership and Business Planning
June 14, 2024
 
Session Four: Conflict Resolution/Balance and Renwal
July 10, 2024
 
Session Five: Law, Legislature and Leadership bus trip to Austin
July  25, 2024
  • This day begins early at ~5:00am until 8:00pm. All group members will travel to Ausin together on a charter bus.
Session Six: Spokesperson Training
August 15, 2024
  • This day may run long until ~6pm.
Session Seven: Leading Across Differences
September 12, 2024
 
Session Eight: Your Role as a Leader
October 10, 2024
 
Session Nine: Putting the Pieces Together

How can I apply?

What is the deadline?                                                                                                            
Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2024 at 5pm. Any application received after this date will not be considered for participation. 
 
Can I make changes to my submitted application?
No. All submissions are final. For any questions or inquiries about corrections, please contact Rita Blevins at 713-629-1900 ext. 1263 or email Rita@har.com before March 15, 2024.
 
What is the Selection Process?
The Leadership Selection Task Force will review all completed applications that are submitted by the deadline. Due to space limitations, not all eligible applicants are guaranteed acceptance into the program.
 
Can my broker or colleague provide supporting letters?
Recommendation letters in support of your application can be written by anyone you have worked with or for. They must be submitted online via the link on the application form. No e-mail, faxes, or snail mail will be accepted. A minimum of two letters of recommendation are required.
 
How will I know if my application was received?
An e-mail acknowledgment will be sent to the address listed in the application to confirm receipt of the submitted form. If it's determined that the application is incomplete or missing some information a second e-mail will be sent.
 
How and when will I be notified of the Selection Committee's decision?
All applicants will be notified of their status via e-mail or phone by March 27, 2024.
 
Is there a fee for the program?
Yes, the cost for the HAR Texas REALTORS Leadership Program is $749 and is payable upon acceptance into the program. Payments can be made with a check and/or credit card.  All payments must be made in full on or before Friday, April 12th.
 
If selected, do I have to attend ALL sessions?
Yes. To graduate from the Leadership Program, Realtors® must attend all sessions and participate in the leadership project. This project will require voluntary time and collaboration outside of the program's monthly sessions.
 
How long are the sessions and where will they be held?                                                     
All sessions will be held at an HAR location or at a location in the HAR membership service area. All sessions will be a full day (approx. 8:30am-5pm) apart from the overnight retreat, one day bus trip to Austin and the Spokesperson training sessions. The overnight retreat is 2 full days with a mandatory dinner on night one. The bus trip will be an extended day (approx. 5am-8pm) and Spokesperson training will be a longer day (approx. 8:30am-6pm).
